The name.
Something is said to be mediagenic when it lends itself particularly well to presentation by the media. The name describes our profession: finding, for each brand, the media and the conditions in which its message will be seen, understood and remembered.
What Mediagenic does.
- Media strategy
- Translating business objectives into investment decisions: target audiences, the role of the media, budget allocation, schedule and indicators.
- Media planning and buying
- Building the plan, negotiating terms with sales houses and media owners, booking space and monitoring delivery.
- Media audit
- Analysing, independently, plans, buying terms and results already committed.
- Measurement and optimisation
- Defining the measurement framework, producing campaign reports and recommending adjustments.
- Training
- Passing on to marketing teams the methods of media strategy and media planning.
What Mediagenic is not.
Mediagenic is neither a creative agency nor a branding studio: the agency does not design brand identities. It works with its clients' creative agencies, or from existing creative work, and concentrates on what pertains to media: channels, formats, schedule, weight, buying terms and measurement.
Our working principles.
- Independence
- No affiliation to a media group, a sales house or an international network. The recommendation starts from the advertiser's objective, never from a portfolio of space to be sold.
- Rigour
- Every recommendation states its assumptions: target audience, chosen weight, cost, success indicator. Whatever cannot be demonstrated is presented as an estimate.
- Negotiation
- The terms obtained from sales houses and media owners are documented and handed to the advertiser together with the media plan.
- Proximity
- A single point of contact follows the account from strategy through to the final report, from our offices in Lausanne, Crissier and Basel.
The Swiss market, a field of arbitration.
The Swiss media market is small but structurally complex: several language regions, each with its own media outlets and consumption habits, an audiovisual landscape in which Swiss channels sit alongside the advertising windows of foreign channels, and measurement standards specific to each media family. A national plan is therefore not the sum of regional plans placed side by side: it requires an explicit arbitration for each area.
